guiding channels with high-speed automatic channel switching Production basis
for rational, order-based and economical turning with changing lot sizes PERFORMANCE
PROFILE Fully automatic loading of long bars directly into the chuck through the
lathe spindle. Thanks to the closed guiding channel (oil circulation) and use
of suitable spindle filler tubes, the PROFImat technology guarantees precise turning
at high speeds. The oil circulation creates a hydrodynamic padding, which stabilises
the concentricity of the bars and compensates for intermediate material diameters.
The workpiece bars are centred automatically under low friction and free of vibrations,
thereby removing the load on the lathe spindle in particular. The guiding channels
are lined with a highly wear-resistant and vibration-damping synthetic material.
SPACE-SAVING LOADING TECHNOLOGY The bar is fed into the lathe in two steps. The
bar is first pushed into the spindle filler tube of the lathe by a driver. A pusher,
matched to the guiding channel, then takes over further transport of the bars
in the lathe. The workpieces can be positioned alternatively against a limit stop
on the turret or by the pusher itself. When the chuck is opened, the bar is moved
on without delay and under control. HIGH-SPEED BAR CHANGES The remnants of the
bars are ejected into the chip compartment through the spindle (remnant retraction
to the rear optional). During machining of a workpiece the separator of the loading
magazine already places the next bar from the roller magazine in the guiding channel.
The short pusher feeds the bar into wait position. QUICK SWITCHING OF GUIDING
CHANNELS The guiding channels are formed by two slot-free aluminium half-shell
profiles mounted on rolls lying on top of each other. This technique allows switching
from one channel to the next within seconds without manual intervention. Since
the guiding channels are divided into several segments, they can be opened individually
at the end of the bar for bar feeding (driver/pusher rod). QUICK CHANGE OF SPINDLE
FILLER TUBES Breuning supplies individually manufactured spindle filler tubes
for every type of lathe. To achieve optimum turning results, the spindle filler
tubes and guiding channels must be matched to each other. To change the spindle
filler tube, the upper part of the PROFImat loading magazine is swung to the side.
PROFILED STOCK The channels are closed on the sides, ensuring reliable feeding
of all types of profile. The pneumatic material stopper sees to completely automatic
insertion of profiled bars into the turn-inhibited collet. 3/4/8 TYPE VERSIONS
The size of the PROFImat loading magazine depends on the maximum collet diameter
of the lathe that is to be loaded automatically. (Intermediate sizes are possible)
For workpiece diameters to 20 mm … TECHNICAL DETAILS Drive and control system:
The feed force (torque) and feed speed (motor speed) can be adjusted independently
of each other with a specially designed servo drive. The positioning device guarantees
safe positioning of the front end of the bar in the work room of the lathe. Breuning
has a pool of tried-and-tested interfaces for quick connection to the machines
of well-known lathe manufacturers. This reduces the work required for installation
and set-up. Options: - Bundle loader - Electromechanical swing device - Axial
linear movement - Suitable systems are available to meet special demands on positioning
accuracy Captions Open channel segment showing short pusher and end of bar The
