suitable for opposed spindle turning centres, unloading through the spindle tube
of spindle B Gentle, axial access to the workpiece PERFORMANCE PROFILE Short or
long workpieces such as shafts or bars are removed directly from the chuck through
axial access. In opposed spindle turning centres the workpiece is removed through
the opposed spindle. This precision unloading technology can also be used in single
spindle lathes (without tailstock). Unloading does not involve a machine stop
due to opening of the machine door. UNLOADING TECHNOLOGY WITHOUT INTERRUPTION
OF THE PROCESS As an extension of the turning spindle centreline, an ejector is
moved to the workpiece from side B of the lathe. The finished part is then removed
from the chuck by a gripper component (various types). The ejector moves back
to its initial position to place the workpiece on the storage rack or indexed
transfer conveyor of the ILS-REX/TEX. The unloading function can be carried out
in optimised time conditions and often simultaneously to the turning process because
in most cases precision machining on the opposed spindle takes less time than
turning on the main spindle. The axial unloading technology of the ILS-REX unloading
machine is also ideally suitable for long workpieces that conventionally can only
be removed through the machine door. RELIABLE WORKPIECE GRIPPING Three different
types of standard gripper component guarantee gentle, safe and quick unloading.
The essential factors in deciding which is the right gripper component are the
length of the workpiece, its shape and the planned process of workpiece transfer.

TRANSFER Simple workpieces are transferred on a storage rack. Appropriately equipped
horizontal indexed conveyors are available for complex shapes, delicate workpieces
and parts that do not roll straight. Further transfer of the parts can be automated
