PERFORMANCE PROFILE The individual components or semi-finished workpieces are
loaded directly into the chuck through the lathe spindle fully automatically.
The lathe spindle is equipped with a suitable spindle filler tube to guide the
workpieces or semi-finished parts exactly. The ILS servo drive technology enables
controlled feeding and positioning. Positioning, including multiple positioning,
can be performed with or without limit stop. LOADING TECHNOLOGY The workpiece
is fed into the lathe in one step. It is pushed into the machine and positioned
or driven against a limit stop by the pusher rod. The workpiece can be driven
into different positions one after the other or alternately. SPINDLE FILLER TUBES
FOR MAXIMUM PROCESS QUALITY Breuning supplies individually manufactured spindle
filler tubes for every type of lathe. Exact-fitting or profiled spindle filler
tubes with corresponding pusher pads for the pusher rods are an essential
requirement for precise positioning and turning. The length of the spindle filler
tube determines the maximum length of workpiece. Suitable spindle extensions are
available for workpiece bars that are longer than the machine spindle. Quick-change
spindle filler tube MAGAZINING The standard equipment for magazining of the parts
is a storage rack (ILS-RBL). A horizontal indexed conveyor is available for difficult
bars that have to be positioned carefully (ILS-TBL). Magazining can be automated
individually by linking the system to additional magazines and feed equipment
such as oscillation conveyors and pick-and-place machines. PROFILED STOCK Breuning
supplies specially manufactured spindle filler tubes for irregularly profiled
bar stock. As a result complex profiled workpieces can also be pushed into the
corresponding chuck in exact position. QUICK CHANGEOVER All that is necessary
to retool to another workpiece diameter is to shift the guide prism and change
the spindle filler tube in the lathe. To grant free access to the lathe spindle,
the ILS-RBL automatic workpiece loader is turned to the side. TYPE VERSIONS TECHNICAL
DETAILS Drive and control system: The feed force (torque) and feed speed (motor
speed) can be adjusted independently of each other with a specially designed servo
