Fully automatic unloading of workpieces
with axial access to the finished part
This unloading technology is suitable for single spindle
lathes without tailstock and especially for opposed spindle turning centres.
In the highly productive opposed spindle turning centres the finished part
is accessed through the
draw tube of the opposed spindle.
The
workpiece is removed from the chuck with
a gripper component and placed gently on the deposit table
of the unloading machine.
Apart
from the aspect of full automation, this tech-
nology is also extremely attractive
as far as cycle times are concerned. Since, in most cases, more is machined
on the main spindle than on the opposed spindle, no additional time
is needed for removal of the workpiece.
For
long workpieces, which conventionally can only
be removed through the machine
door, unloading through
the opposed spindle is incomparably faster.
This
time-optimised unloading during the process is
highly efficient.
In
most cases of application the rationalisation effect
of this technology is
extraordinarily high. Users report of
cycle time reductions of around 60 percent.
Automation of further linkage with handling machines and magazines is
also available. In such cases Breuning takes over responsi-bility for designing
and implementing the complete automated peripherals as system partner.
