Making full use of opposed spindle turning centres
The machining performance of an opposed spindle
turning centre can only be exploited to the full through
perfect automation
of loading and unloading. A synergy
achieved in three functional areas:
1.
Quick reloading of the workpiece bars by
the high-performance multi-channel loading magazine PROFImat for practically non-stop
operation. The standard loading magazine allows turning from 3, 4 or 6 m long
bars.
The loading magazine can be integrated fully in the kine-
matics of the moving
spindle.
2.
Quick switching of the directly available 8 (6)
guiding channels at the touch
of a button. The guide
channels can also be fitted out for other (individual)
diameters. The workpiece bars are kept centred in
the
closed PROFImat guiding channel hydrodynamically.
3.
Perfect unloading by the automatic unloading
system ILS-REX. This system reaches
through the draw
tube of the opposed spindle and grips the finished work-
piece directly. Various unloading devices and individual
solutions are available
for careful part removal.
This gripping of the workpieces is integrated in the process, thereby practically
eliminating non-productive times.
